Purpose

I am Kingston. Welcome to our space. Out of a deep desire we created this space, to create a gathering for folks who believe in Jesus and will also like to make a unique contribution to the world through creative personal projects.

Also, these are folks who in the face of the negatives in life, choose faith. These are people who decide within themselves to choose a different path.

I chose the word “We,” because I know my folks are already out there.

These are folks who somehow know that in a place of swear words, they will like to choose wholesome words. When faced with the left and right, will prefer the right. In a place of despair and hope, to cling to hope. Whether to choose to doubt or believe, will side with believing. Whether to give up the seat or not, know it's right to give it up for the elderly. Between anger and calm, they will be happy to keep their cool. Between light and darkness, choose the light.

We are not perfect, we fall sometimes, but we get up and keep striving for what's right. So if you are still working on yours and feel like us, feel free to come along. We all often need a hand.

But always know that at any moment, we have the power to choose.

And in this choosing, our chief tool is the Word of God.

Welcome to “We Choose Different.”

Life is all about choices, and hangouts. When I say hangouts, I mean who and what we spend time with. 
 
We acknowledge the power we have to choose, and do not leave it at that. We also bring in the power of environment, that two are better that one, and a cord folded 3 times is hard to break. 

Together we are choosing to take a different path, a way of life long laid down in the Word of God.

Here are our focuses (0r Topics):

  1. Word for what they are and their power.

  2. Prayer for an example Jesus left us. Prayer is communication with God, through Jesus. On our own we can do nothing. It takes God and our own willingness to make things happen, and through prayer we get help from God to make it through the day. So we pray.

  3. Creativity, for I believe that a creative mind made the past, has a hold on the present, and has power over the future.

  4. Projects---we encourage each of to work on projects they enjoy. These are projects that helps other people in a meaningful way. We all also help each other with each others project. Things like feedback, counsel, design, product creations, marketing, etc. ( check out my own personal project page at www.acouplethingsforowners.blogspot.com)

  5. Organising: Here we encourage the skills it takes to create a community. No one part of “We choose different” is tied to this group only, you can organize your own group outside of here, and grow it. Skills like communication---word, text, and video---we should all strive to master.

  6. Sharing---Freely receive, freely give. Or cast your bread upon the waters, and you will find it after many days. What are the waters? People. My own personal principle is this: Give, give, give.

  7. Resistance: this is a focus on blocking out all negativity. We do not take it lightly. We watch for it in our own selves, and strive to keep it out of our lives in whatever way we can.
